Overview
We aim to develop Project Ink as a 2D shooter game with a satisfying and impactful shooting feel, a deep card system with diverse builds, and well-organized Roguelite elements that provide replayablility. The player’s goal in one game is to explore maps,  defeat enemies to gain rewards, and use rewards to improve self.
The protagonist in the game, Elvira, an artist who survived the Ink Theater fire in 17th-century Britain, retreats into an imaginary world inspired by the plays she once loved. Guided by the mysterious voice of IT, she wields magical cards to fight the corruption distorting her creations.

The core mechanic of Project Ink is that the player shoots cards from player's built deck in one game run. Cards will have different effects when they are shot or interact with other cards in the card slots. Different card in different build has different focus and functions. A well-built deck can give the player satisfying and unique combat experience.

What We Have Done: Design
Game Design Document that explans clearly how we plan to develop Project Ink.
  • Game design script on Notion that communicates the design details of enemies and how these designs should be implemented in the real game.
  • Now this includes the script of all 12 normal enemies, 3 elites, and 1boss that will be used in the Chapter 1 of the game.

Responsibilities
Some of my responsibilities include and have finished:
  • Design the card system and all cards in five build (38 in total).
  • Design the roguelite map generation system.
  • Design 12 normal enemies, 2 elites, and 1 boss.
  • Finish the Game Design Document of Project Ink.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other designer, programmer, and arts.
  • Project management on all designs of Project Ink.
Some of my responsibilities include and will finish in the future:​
  • Design the economy system.
  • Design one-two more card build.
  • Design about 100 rooms used in the game.
  • ...
Future Development Plan
By June, we plan to finish most contents in the first Chapter of the game, which includes: all designs, codes, most arts, and most sounds.
Design plan: 1. design 200+ rooms and implement them into the game; 2. design the economy system; 3. test and iterate the rest 21 cards.
Program plan: 1. finish all elite enemies; 2. finish the rest cards; 3. implement economy system; 4. implement art assets.
Art plan: 1. finish the rest enemies animations; 2. design and implement UI; 3. implement the rest art effects.
Sound plan: 1. finish all SFXs of the player; 2. finish all SFXs of enemies; 3. finish game music.
